Paying Taxes with the Digital Tax Office Is Much Easier

Did you know that you can pay your taxes via digital wallet and/or Alipay-Union Pay?

The Digital Tax Office is now, as you know, available for use. Previously, the structures scattered across the websites ivd.gib.gov.tr and intvrg.gib.gov.tr have been consolidated under one single platform. Now, you can carry out many transactions through the page at dijital.gib.gov.tr.

Essentially, the Digital Tax Office has two important and impressive features:

  1. You can make partial tax payments.
You’re able to select specific tax liabilities and pay them partially. Hopefully, moving forward this feature doesn’t require manual intervention by the tax office's accounting department.

  2. You can pay with a variety of payment methods.

    • You can use the credit card from any bank, just like before.

    • You can make payments directly from your VakıfBank or Ziraat Bank current account.

    • You can also pay using your accounts with UnionPay, Alipay, BanContact, EPS, GiroPay, iDEAL, or Safetypay.

    • You can even pay using the balance in your mobile wallets (Garanti Pay, Maximum Mobil, World Pay). Medium

How to pay your taxes via the Digital Tax Office:

  1. Log into the system using your e‑Government (e‑Devlet) password on the Digital Tax Office page.

  2. Go to “Debt Payment Transactions”: click the “Debt Payment Details” button on the side.

  3. Your debts will be listed: but finding how to pay takes a bit of time—you need to swipe right on the page. (They could definitely make this part a bit more user‑friendly, in my opinion.)

  4. Payment step: you need to scroll down to see the listed debts. At first glance, the payment button isn’t visible.
