Embarking on the journey of entrepreneurship is both exciting and challenging. If you've chosen to establish your own company instead of opting for a salaried position, it's crucial to access the right information and support. However, when searching for young entrepreneur support programs, you might often encounter promotional content from virtual office and e-invoice companies, making everything seem overly optimistic. To help you navigate this landscape, we've compiled the most essential points you need to know about young entrepreneur support in 2025.

1. What is the 2025 Young Entrepreneur Support Amount?

The Young Entrepreneur Support for 2025 is set at 330,000 TL. It's important to note that being a young entrepreneur does not exempt you from filing tax declarations or paying stamp duties. This support specifically pertains to income tax exemptions.

2. Who Qualifies as a Young Entrepreneur?

To be recognized as a young entrepreneur, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement: You must be under 29 years old. To determine eligibility accurately, subtract your birth date from the current date. If the total number of days is less than 10,593, you qualify as a young entrepreneur.

  • No Previous Business Ownership: You must not have previously established a company or been a sole proprietor or freelancer with tax obligations. Essentially, you should have no prior tax liability as a business owner.

3. Benefits of Being a Young Entrepreneur

Young entrepreneurs enjoy several tax advantages, including:

  • Tax Relief: When you establish a sole proprietorship or register as a freelancer, you are exempt from paying income tax on invoices totaling up to 330,000 TL annually for three calendar years.

  • Bağkur Support: For 12 months, you are not required to pay Bağkur (social security) premiums. This exemption can save you up to 150,156.56 TL in 2025, covering both income tax and Bağkur contributions.

4. How to Apply for Young Entrepreneur Support

After registering your company, you must apply for young entrepreneur support through the Interactive/Digital Tax Office. Once approved, submit the confirmation letter to your local SGK (Social Security Institution) office to prevent Bağkur debt accrual. It's advisable to verify your status via online banking using your T.C. Identity Number to ensure no outstanding debts exist.

5. Can You Work Elsewhere as a Young Entrepreneur?

Yes, working as a salaried employee does not disqualify you from benefiting from young entrepreneur support. Your employer handles your insurance premiums, allowing you to take advantage of the tax benefits independently. According to relevant regulations, being employed does not interfere with your eligibility for entrepreneurial tax exemptions.

6. Bağkur Support Details for 2025

  • Monthly Premium: 7,671.38 TL

  • Annual Premium: 92,056.56 TL

Young entrepreneurs are exempt from paying Bağkur premiums for the first 12 months. After this period, Bağkur debt will begin to accrue automatically on a monthly basis.

7. Duration and Annual Increase of Tax Exemption

The tax exemption for young entrepreneurs lasts for three calendar years. For instance, if you establish your sole proprietorship in December 2025, you effectively utilize one year of support even if your business operates for only one month that year. The exemption amount is tied to the second bracket of income tax, which increases annually, thereby enhancing the support value over time.

8. Eligibility Beyond Age 29

If you establish your tax liability before turning 29, you remain eligible for young entrepreneur support even after turning 29.

9. Can Partners of Limited or Joint-Stock Companies Benefit?

Yes, partners who have not declared income tax due to profit distribution can benefit from the young entrepreneur tax exemption. Provided you meet all the necessary conditions, such as establishing tax liability for the first time due to commercial, agricultural, or professional activities, you can leverage the exemption effectively.

10. Hiring Employees as a Young Entrepreneur

There are no restrictions on hiring employees as a young entrepreneur. You can employ staff and manage your business operations while still benefiting from tax exemptions, provided you maintain control over your business activities.

11. Combining International Software Services with Young Entrepreneur Support

If you provide software services abroad, you can simultaneously benefit from both the young entrepreneur support and the 80% tax exemption for international software exports. Apply for the young entrepreneur exemption first, followed by the service export exemption to maximize your benefits.

12. Which Taxes Are Exempted?

  • Exempted: Income tax up to 330,000 TL annually.

  • Not Exempted:

    • VAT: Required if you operate domestically.

    • Stamp Duties: Necessary if filing tax declarations.

    • Withholding Taxes: Applicable when renting office space or employing staff.

13. Can Foreign Nationals Benefit?

Yes, foreign nationals residing in Turkey can also take advantage of young entrepreneur support, provided they meet all eligibility requirements, including full tax liability based on residency.

14. Post-Business Closure Eligibility

Unfortunately, if you cease your business activities, you cannot retroactively claim the young entrepreneur tax exemption. You can only benefit from exemptions up to the point when you cease operations.
