In this post, we will walk you through the process of paying your tax debt via internet banking, specifically through Vakıfbank and Halkbank, with step-by-step instructions and screenshots to guide you through the process.

Can I Pay My Tax Debt via Credit Card?

Yes, since the start of the pandemic and COVID-19 precautions, many banks allow the payment of tax debts using a credit card. You can make payments of up to 100,000 TRY through the Interactive Tax Office platform using a credit card. Please note that there might be a small fee for this service.

What to Do If You Missed the Payment Deadline?

If you miss the payment deadline, you can still make payments through public banks such as İş Bank and Halkbank. However, after payment, it's advisable to double-check your tax status by querying the debt status on the internet tax office platform a few days later to ensure that the payment has been processed properly.

How to Make Insurance (SGK) and Bağ-Kur Payments via Internet Banking

In addition to tax payments, you can also make SGK (Social Security) and Bağ-Kur (Social Insurance for the Self-Employed) payments through your bank's internet banking platform. Here are the steps:

  1. Choose the SGK/Insurance Payment Option
Start by selecting SGK Payments on your bank’s internet banking page.

  2. Choose the Payment Period
For Bağ-Kur payments, select the relevant period (current or overdue payments). If you're making payments for employees, choose the Employer SGK Payment option.

  3. Verify Payment Details and Proceed
After entering all necessary details, make sure everything is correct before confirming your payment.

Conclusion

Paying taxes and social security contributions is essential for every business owner and individual in Turkey. By following these simple steps, you can ensure that you meet your tax obligations on time without the hassle of visiting a bank in person. Always remember to verify your payment status on the Interactive Tax Office platform, especially if you miss the deadline.
